Give a cold treatment of 4 șC for 8 weeks to the sown seed before moving the seed to 20 șC can make germination more predictable.Cover with a thin layer of fine vermiculite
Germination 2 - 3 weeks. Germination can be erratic and double sowing is probably needed for plug production

Growing on:
Temperature After seedling: night temperature minimum 15 18 șC to increase plant size and build up root growth.
To over-winter: drop temperature to just frost free night 2 șC and 7 șC or below for day.
After plug transplanting in Jan/Feb keep temperature at a minimum of 15 șC to get establishment then drop temperature as before. Cold period essential to promote flowering.
Grow on for about 6 weeks to sales time at 15 16 șC to finish crop.

Advice Sulphur fungicides can cause a phytotoxic reaction. Keep dry and well ventilated during cold growing periods.
