Germinating Gazania Kiss seed
Plant Type; Tender Perennial
Sowing; Sow January for pack/pot production flowering late April - May. Sow end of February to March for summer planting. Sow at 20°C Cover with an average layer of vermiculite/seed compost. Germination usually takes 1-2 weeks.
Crop timing;
Sowing to transplanting 3-4 weeks
Sowing to flowering 13-14 weeks
Growing on; Grow on at 15 - 18°C to establish
transplanted seedlings or plugs. Once they are established reduce
the night time temperatures to 12 - 15°C
pH requirement 5.8 - 6.2
Feed approx 4 weeks after potting with N:P:K
Grow on a dry culture. Allow compost to dry between waterings.
This variety can be grown without growth regulators.
Commercial sales; six pack, 9-10 cm pots or larger for the summer
booster bedding market.
Space plants at 25 - 30 cm in the garden
Advice; Water early in the day to allow foliage to dry before nightfall. Saturated media will induce streching.
Common Diseases; Grey Mould, Stem base or root rot, leaf spot.
Common pests; Thrips and Spider Mites.
